Serves: 6-8

Ingredients:

For the filling:

  • 4 cups apples (peeled, cored, and sliced)
  • 1/4 cup coconut sugar (or brown sugar)
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice

For the topping:

  • 1 cup gluten-free oats
  • 1/2 cup almond flour
  • 1/4 cup coconut oil (melted)
  • 1/4 cup coconut sugar (or brown sugar)
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup chopped nuts (optional)

Directions:

  • Preheat the Oven:
    Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×9-inch baking dish.
  • Prepare the Filling:
    In a large bowl, toss the sliced apples with coconut sugar, cinnamon, and lemon juice until well coated. Spread the apple mixture evenly in the prepared baking dish.
  • Make the Topping:
    In another bowl, combine the gluten-free oats, almond flour, melted coconut oil, coconut sugar, cinnamon, salt, and chopped nuts (if using). Mix until crumbly.
  • Assemble the Crisp:
    Sprinkle the topping evenly over the apples in the baking dish.
  • Bake:
    Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until the apples are tender and the topping is golden brown.
  • Cool and Serve:
