This is such an unbelievably easy healthy dessert/snack recipe. It takes literally 5 minutes to make and you can make as much or as little as you want. Do you remember those chocolate oranges people would give you for holidays sometimes? You could literally peel it apart into orange wedges? This tastes like one of those only 100 times better. I snack on a few of these oranges when I’m in the mood for something sweet, but I’m not trying to over-indulge and feel guilty about it later. You can use whatever type of chocolate you have. If you use a vegan dark chocolate, these will be vegan. If you don’t care about them being vegan, you can use milk chocolate or even white chocolate. After the clementine segments are dipped in chocolate, they are sprinkled with a bit of sea salt to bring out the chocolate flavor and add a whole new depth of flavor. If you bought one of those huge crates of clementines that are always on sale this time of year- here is a perfect way to use them up!
Active Time: 10 minutes Total Time: 20 minutes
Serves: 3
Ingredients: 3 clementines, peeled and divided into segments 1/4 cup chocolate chips of choice (for vegan use vegan dark chocolate)
sprinkle of sea salt (about ¼ teaspoon total)
Directions:
Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Set aside. Melt the chocolate in a microwave-safe bowl, stirring every 15 seconds until smooth. Dip clementine segments into the chocolate, covering half of the segment. Place dipped clementine on parchment paper. Repeat until all segments are dipped. Sprinkle with sea salt. Place in the refrigerator for at least 10 minutes for chocolate to set. Store in an air-tight container in the fridge for up to 4 days.
