I love spicy foods. Like seriously love. My husband wasn’t a huge spicy-food lover when we first started dating, but now he loves it too. Hence why I have posted so many main dish meals that have “spicy” right in the title. This Buffalo Wing Hummus is the perfect healthy, spicy snack. It comes together in about 10 minutes and is creamy, spicy, and satisfying. It’s easy to adjust the heat in this recipe by just varying the amount of hot sauce you use. If you are a spice addict, up the amount. If you like the flavor of spicy foods, but not the oh-my-gosh-my-mouth-is-on-FIRE feeling, feel free to use less. I used a neutral amount in this recipe, so don’t worry- if you follow the recipe as is, you should not be chasing this hummus with 10 glasses of water. I served this hummus with celery and carrots, but pita chips or pretzels would also be great. You can even sprinkle a little bit of crumbled blue cheese on top if you’re in to that.
NOTE: To get the hummus extra creamy, I remove the skin from the chickpeas before blending. This is entirely optional, but leaving the skin off may result in a slightly more chunky texture.
