Can you believe there is one more week of Fall left before it is officially Winter? It’s been exceptionally cold here in Pennsylvania lately and the temperature is dropping even further at the end of the week (into the 20s—eek!). Christmas is coming quickly and although I’m super excited for it to arrive, I’m not quite ready for it yet! I’m still getting a little last minute online shopping done and preparing the menu for the Christmas Eve party I am hosting.
If you’re hosting a party this holiday season, this Winter White Sangria should definitely be on your menu! I prefer dry wines, so finding a sangria that isn’t too sweet can sometimes be a challenge. I found a recipe for a White Christmas Sangria that looked very festive, but sounded a little too sweet for my liking. So, I made some changes to the ingredients and proportions and came up with This Winter White Sangria. I decided to start with Sauvignon Blanc because it is my favorite white wine. Then, I added a little bit of lower-sugar white grape juice (Organic Juc’d Right, White Grape from Wegmans) for just the right amount of sweetness. Bright red cranberries, green apples, and sprigs of rosemary keep the drink looking festive while also adding lots of flavor. I finished it off with a splash of club soda for a little fizz and sparkle.
I made this Winter White Sangria over the weekend when my in-laws came over for dinner. The next day, I brought a glass to my sister’s house for her to try. Both my mother-in-law and my sister loved it! As I previously mentioned, I am hosting my family’s Christmas Eve dinner this year, and I plan on making a triple batch to serve in a beverage dispenser.
If you prefer a sweeter sangria, you could also try making this with a sweet white, such as Moscato.

*alternately, you could forgo mixing the club soda in ahead of time and just add a splash to your glass after you pour in the sangria
